They are in an all out push with their minions and bots to try to push this thru.

The atmosphere is eerily similar to the period before the bail out, war in the gulf, Iraq, etc. It's a push push and make it seem inevitable. Demonize the opposition, confuse and obfuscate, then jam it thru.
