(2,322 posts)...that there will be several sequels. And you know when a movie makes this kind of a splash, every studio in Hollywood jumps on the bandwagon. (i.e. if Hollywood thinks feminist propaganda--as these idiots see it--helped make all this $$ then there will be more and more such in action films). And it's getting accolades from everyone in the action-film-comic-book world that these idiots think is theirs (including serious artists). Fandom is swooning over this film; their praise is rapturous not only for it's style and energy but for Theron. So we're going to see more of it in those genres as well. Comic book companies will also jump on that bandwagon.
It's going to be the end of the world for the "men's rights" groups who are sure their exclusive man caves (action films and comic books and games) are being invaded by uppity wimmen.
As for the unvarnished reality of the film (i.e. not blinded by explosions or male insecurities)...my husband saw it and his opinion is that's it's artfully, visually splendid and quite a spectacle, but also absurd (meaning, you can't bring logic to it or you'll be sitting through the whole movie saying, "Huh? Why?" But then most viewers will likely check their logic at the door, so win-win).
Guess now it'll make even more money as this complaint will, as said, have women wanting to see it.
