I don't say that without recognizing mine was the most liberal generation in decades and today are the ones who have used up centuries of resources without putting much back and may well be credited with the demise of life on earth, or that WE ALL live atop the bones of 50 million people our ancestors killed so we could have their land.

That said...

He is lecturing because the people around him are burning up the world they and their progeny live on.

And their progeny are helping them and making snarky comments about Gramps.

It's more or less the same speech Jimmy Carter was giving when he was considerably younger, and the snarky comments led to Ronald Reagan.

You gonna get exactly what you deserve.
