I think his father, Jim-Bob molested him. That's my opinion. I think Josh was "acting out" abuse that was done to him. Somebody powerful sexually abused him and he re-created that power imbalance, by finding younger victims.

He was serially abusing these young girls. A blogger who read the police report said that one of these girls was very young.

Families like these protect their secrets. They will continue to defend him and rationalize until they are blue in the face. Anything to keep their sick secrets safe.

With 19 kids though, I imagine that many children were victimized by multiple people through the years. I truly think that Jim Bob is an offender, and his son's actions are a symptom of a much, much deeper problem in that family.

It's going to be difficult keeping 19 kids silent. As they grow up, and with the television show gone, they are more free to think for themselves and start to come out of denial. It's possible that a couple of them may.
