When I was in high school we had Spirit Week. One of the days was "Nerd Day". [View all]

I dressed in a nerd-like fashion (tape on glasses, pleated skirt halfway up my waist, and mismatched knee socks). As I walked in the door to Algebra class the boy who sat behind me said, "How come you didn't dress up today?" and the class laughed. On "Toga Day", he undid the pin to the sheet I wore and it fell (No worries, people, I had clothes on underneath) tripping me up so that I fell as we walked out of class.

Ten years later he walked up to me at a Christmas Party held by a mutual friend...and apologized for being an ass. He had never forgotten the crappy things he had done. When I look back on those days I consider the pranks that he pulled to be hijinks. He did not physically alter my appearance. Sure it was embarrassing but all that was hurt was my pride.

He grew to be a fine man. And I was surprised that he even apologized at all. It wasn't necessary, but it was really appreciated.

Mitt Romney? Not so much. If he actually "forgot" this vicious attack on a classmate...well that makes him pretty damned twisted.
