Kids in prison: documentary [View all]

Found this during my reaction to Josh Duggar's crime and my wanting him to pay for it: two kids, one twelve, one fourteen, in prison, charged as adults. Just wondering if there is any alternative. The prison system is supposed to make them suffer, but does it have to be absolute hell, with threats of rape, violence or murder constantly hanging around them? Same questions for adult prisons. How much punishment is just before it becomes inhumane?
