2. Majestic snood on that tom!

And his plumage is fluffin' up for a strut!

A couple of winters ago, we had a flock of hens and poults , with an occasional jake, gathering under the bird feeder just outside our kitchen window. The snow was high enough that they could look right inside at me while I was washing dishes and peck the window. When a mature tom showed up, they all deferred to him while he gobbled up every seed in sight. (Pun intended!) They were fun to watch, but I got tired of cleaning up their poopsicles so the dogs didn't eat 'em!
