47. Because, as per Revelations, when the Anti-Christ and Armegeddon come, all the people on the

globe will be killed, except for 144,000 CONVERTED Jews...awaiting the Second (not first) Coming of their Messiah. Once all those little "details" are accomplished, Jesus will come and rein on the Temple Mount, which infers that the New Jerusalem will be converted Jews only.

The Christians at that time, however, will be spared as they will go up into the heavens, quite magically, and the sinners will be killed. Some (pre-trib folks) think they Go Up before the Tribulation, others think they will have to endure to test their faith, then go up...the post-trib folks.

For non-Christians it seems a bit foggy, and that would be appropriate, since this all reportedly came from a Dream of the Apostle John.

All of this culminates in Israel, so that's the attraction. They get to go to Heaven then without dying.
