I'm out of touch with office culture today because I've worked at home for some time now, but I'm not surprised there's still sexual harassment even in more liberal parts of the country today.
One supervisor where it was particularly bad, said, "I really don't know how you put up with it," but when asked to do something about it, he just shook his head and said, "I can't." No elaboration or rationale offered; just ... "I can't."
Office affairs were common and I wonder now how many were coerced. As a young divorcée with a small child to support, I was considered vulnerable and "fair game," whether I liked it or not.
Sexist pigs will find a way to be sexist pigs no matter where they are. They're nothing but egotistical, hormonal, 15-year-old brats in men's clothing. They might have to be a little more sneaky about it these days, but even that's in doubt.
