(23,257 posts)Something happened to me on DU a little less than a month ago, I didn't think it was fair, I voiced that in "Ask The Admins," and went away for about a month. This was because I felt that what happened was so unfair that I was a hair's width away from pulling a Walt Starr. And then I thought "why bother?"
There have been people who have been banned on DU, and I felt it was a good thing. They had their supporters, sure. I, on the other hand, was glad to see them gone. One in particular.
I was on my sabbatical when the NYC_SKIP shit hit the fan. I enjoyed his posts, I enjoyed the times he interacted with things I'd posted.
As I posted elsewhere today, I remember when MFM got banned. He was allowed back in. If you look at the total picture of NYC_SKIP's participation on DU, as much as we may hate the word he used and the context that he used it in, it was a misstep. He fucked up. Give him the chance to SAY that, put it BEHIND us, and let him the fuck back in.
That's my two cents worth.
