In reply to the discussion: Can anybody near NYC take a sweet 7yo kitteh who is heartbroken after abandoned by owner? [View all]countryjake
(8,554 posts)57. My little brown tabby died of a broken heart...
when I had to leave the state to go take care of my dying mother. She must have thought I'd abandoned her, even tho she was home comfortable with all of her other "fur sisters", surrounded by all that was familiar to her, and had my SO to sleep with.
I went back East on March 22 and my precious Joey died on May 28, 2013. The guilt I still feel over it brings me to tears...my mother was a brute to me my entire life, but that dear tiger kitty loved me like no other.

Totally heartless assholes, I hope they don't have any kids. I would worry about them.

As a tabby owner (she's a she!), the thing on the left is worth the destruction on the right

Tabbies get attached. Mine won't eat when I go on vacation and basically lays huddled on my bed

It's rare that any of us get as clear a chance to make a small but meaningful difference...

Contact the rescue group who pulled Tiger from the shelter, they'll probably be able to work with
