(14,787 posts)It's entirely possible to have shitty research that leads to poorly-informed or poorly-constructed questions. I think her initial question to Sen Sanders falls into that category: she, or a producer or researcher or intern, read the stuff on Facebook, which is, after all, akin to doing research on the YouTube comments section, and went with it.
That, to me, is understandable and I am not one to pretend I can get into the head of anyone, so I wouldn't accuse her of furthering historical antisemitic canards based on one bad question. It was the followup that troubles me. Rather than just allowing Sen Sanders' denial to be the end of it, she went in whole hog, asking him about OTHER lawmakers who might have dual US-Israeli citizenship. That, to me, was a bridge too far for precisely the reasons Bonobo mentions in the OP.
