(55,981 posts)it's not about being offended but about power. What sense of power one has to be able to censor those they declare offend them.
Here is my opinion. Words themselves don't hurt a soul. If you read them in a dictionary you don't burn the dictionary. If a child utters the word no one is offended. It's the intent behind the use of the word. There are lots of words that can be used in a pejorative manner that can also be used in a non-pejorative manner. I consider myself liberal and yet blame some liberals for trying too hard not to offend.
