36. You've hit the head of the nail - Teaching Peace. The problem is that the very people who could

train a generation - teachers - get fired for the littlest thing these days. School Boards/Superintendents, et al don't give a flying crap what the parents want, it is the ideology of the school board that is taught.

When I went to a private school K-5, all the young teachers were former Peace Corp. Volunteers. (I wonder if part of their salary was underwritten by the feds.) Boy, did they bring that ideology and really hammer it home to us about social justice, peace, environmental aspects, etc. The older teachers were old school about discipline but the younger teachers talk to us rather than at us.

Could you imagine a group of real teachers emphasizing being allowed to continue their messaging all these years, how different the world could be? Yes, I know the problems with the Peace Corps. but the teachers I came into contact with were True Believers in making the world a better place, one student at a time. I can't be the only one to remember...

Instead the humanities have been drummed out of school and discipline and STEM have been emphasized. We need both to really understand the local community (micro) to the large world (macro). It all goes hand in hand.
