(15,654 posts)As in every slice of society, there are varying degrees of prescience (though that's not really an accurate word to describe being well informed and applying critical thought when engaging in the democratic process). However, I would say the average DUer is much better informed than the average Teapartier.
I'm not sure why you would respond to the content of my post with yet another opinion poll, this time about the leading Republican candidates. Given the point you were trying to make with the poll about Democratic candidates (that favorability ratings reflect the opinions of well informed voters), you apparently think people would vote for the likes of Rubio, Bush, and Walker based on a thorough knowledge of the candidates and the effects of their policies.
That's pretty much contrary to my understanding of most Republican voters who are not wealthy. For the most part they have been fooled into voting against their own interests by constant exposure to Fox News and other rightwing sources. Rather than being well informed they have been misinformed and are lacking in critical thinking skills.
However, since you posted both polls to support your line of reasoning, you apparently think Rubio, Bush, and Walker would all make a pretty good president -- after all, opinion polls couldn't be wrong about something like that, right?
