18 back in 1981 when I graduated and moved back to Miami. I actually stayed in NMB also, my grandparents lived in Ives Estates, 2 blocks from County Line Road.

You should be familiar with Opa-locka, Andover, Cooper City, Carver's Ranches and a few other areas that are well known "drug neighborhoods"

It's pretty sad that the only time you see white folks in predominately minority areas is when they are looking for drugs or sex. How would you feel if you lived there?

Considering the fact that the gangs took over those areas, *if* I lived there, it would mean that I was probably selling too, so I could honestly say that I would be glad to see people coming in. I *do* understand the point that you are trying to make, I just don't particularly agree with it. Afterall, it wasn't the "white man" who made these drug dealing gangs take over the neighborhoods and Govt. Housing Projects, was it?? That was their own doings, establishing their turf. *WE* didn't *FORCE* them into drug dealing and/or prostitution, did we?

I also lived in deep south Dade County, in Florida City, for several years.. right where the Florida Turnpike ended onto US 1, 18 miles from Key Largo. Right when you merged onto US 1, there was a red light. Turn right, going west, and it was Palm Drive, which was the road that divided Florida City into the North and South Sectors. US 1 divided East and West. Everything Northwest of Palm Drive was considered "colored town", and to the South was your whites, Italians and your migrant workers who worked the fields. We heard gunshots almost every night on the North side, and it was a well known drug neighborhood. If you were white, and a cop saw you pulling out of one of the side streets on the North side after dark, your ass was getting pulled over and searched. End of story. Even worse... if you were black, and were seen on the south side of Palm Drive at night, you were stopped and searched for possession of burglary tools. equal opportunity racial profiling at it's finest!!!

When I lived in Douglasville, Ga., I got pulled over one evening just because I was white, and was pulling out of a side road that went to a well known drug Projects. It just so happened that the Pre-K 4 and daycare that my kids were in was on the same road. The officer then noticed my kids strapped into their car seats and let me go. I had explained to him already that I had worked an hour late that day, and was late getting there to pick my kids up from daycare. I have also been pulled over and had sobriety checks done on me just because I have really long hair, beard, moustache and tattoos. I know for a fact that black people aren't the *only* ones who are racially profiled.

Peace,

Ghost
