A lot of people don't understand what the conditions are really like in Russia. There is a ton of poverty there. People who knock the USA might not do too good over there in dog eat dog Russia.
Its a fascist oligarchy run by a career KGB hitman who would have lost his seat had he not kicked out the activists and regained control of the media. He's fighting a losing battle with the homophobia and the only reason its still there is the Orthodox Church. Russia is still 20 years behind the USA in human rights in that regard.
That's why Putin and Bush got along so good. Bush's dad ran the CIA for 30 years. Obama was like the ultimate curveball for Putin in that Putin is never going to be able to clock Obama like he did the Bushes,
