From 'The Nation':

Priebus offers his "all in" commitment even though Walker's campaign has a 251 financial advantage over Barrett. And that doesn't even count the millions coming in from the Koch brothers and other national donors who are funding so-called "independent" expenditures on the governor's behalf.
What is the Democratic National Committee offering in return? Not as much. While the Democratic Governors Association and some other groups with party ties have been supportive of the electoral fight in Wisconsin, the DNC has been slow on the draw. Even now, after much discussion of the DNC's slow response, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz says only that she hopes to come to Wisconsin for a fundraising event. Translation: she will make an appearance in Wisconsin where Wisconsinites will be asked to give money to the DNC.

From 'Daily Kos':
<snip>
The Democratic Governors Association has already spent $2 million on the recall, but there's still no definite answer on the $500,000 the Democratic Party of Wisconsin has requested from the DNC:
"The DNC will use both its substantial network of activists and supporters as well as extensive online resources to develop the ground game" in Wisconsin, Roussell said. She declined to comment on whether or not the committee would make any financial investments in the race, but said "the DNC is fully committed to helping Mayor Barrett win the election."
As part of that, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz is holding a fundraiser for Democratic nominee Tom Barrett. Like the DNC, President Obama's reelection campaign is helping out in ways that don't involve direct infusions of cash, focusing on voter registration and education.
Both the DNC and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin emphasize that the DNC hasn't yet said it would not contribute to the recall effort financially. But in a close election that will be determined by turnout, time is running short for Wisconsin Democrats and the Barrett campaign to have their GOTV plans in placeand that requires knowing how much money they'll have.

The DNC represents a committment from the official party. The other groups are motivated by a grassroots move or another group.
The NATIONAL part of the Democratic Party needs to be in there with more. That shows people in all areas that they will put their money where their mouth is.
How does this look to other operatives in other places? It looks like you are on your own when it comes to depending on the very group you are helping with donations and labor. The DNC will be in there in a nanosecond asking for all that help when they want something.
The Dems can win all the national elections they want, but if they don't get off their asses and try to help affect change at local and state levels, they will never convert their money to real power. The down ticket races are key to a party's strength. Think about the power already shown in redistricting and bills that have passed by state legislations held by a majority of Republicans.
It is up to the people of Wisconsin and in other states with their issues. If you don't think the MONEY and support flowing in from big groups and the national parties doesn't matter, you should have another think coming!
The recall election is June 5th. Talk about days left and dollars short. AaAND the national party had to be asked and pushed. Help my ass.
