(614 posts)it's 40 years of sailing thru american politics w/o policy, but solely on (ahem) trumped up issues, like n*****s and hippies and drugs and crime and abortion and guns and gays and wars, OH MY!
trump almost perfectly embodies that crazy base the GOP actually created for instant ginning up every 4 years, to get them to the polls. (and when not even that would win for them, they went after the election process itself; you know that drill too well.)
aside from his support for planned parenthood and single payer healthcare, trump is the perfect embodiment of targeting the low info voter, with a very liberal (heh) dose of incendiary rhetoric and nasty hatefulness a la fox, and voila! the republican frankenstein!
as for his staying power, the minute someone sits him down - like his accountant and lawyer - and tells him he will have to leave his companies and his deal-making and his money while in office, he'll find a convenient way to bow out.
and sure, this will have to happen while he's still riding high, to avoid you know - loser.
such a creep. but not as creepy as the GOP who created his rabid followers.
