(8,200 posts)He has the Republican Party by the balls. He is essentially blackmailing them with the threat that if they don't support him unconditionally he will launch a third party candidacy that will assure their defeat. He is an unscrupulous con-man who is using the very same tactics that he employs in his business deals to control them. An example is his threat of bankruptcy that the used against the banks that had financed his ill fated casino ventures. If they didn't rewrite the loans and give him a lower interest rate he would default and leave them holding the bag. He learned after his first bankruptcy not to risk his own money when he almost went belly up, but to bank the profits and let the banks and investors take the risk.
He thinks that he is a master negotiator who can con foreign governments to bend to his will. However, he is badly mistaken if he thinks that he can out maneuver China, Japan and the entirety of
Europe. They have been at this for a few centuries and will hand him his ass on a paper plate. The fear is that he could actually land the presidency in these turbulent times and bring the nation to financial ruin if they unite against America.
