There are some protections in place now for victims of domestic violence that weren't there for my mother, yet women are still dying at the hands of their spouses and SOs. And even with Roe a woman's right to a safe and legal abortion is limited if not impossible for many. We still have a ways to go.
I have to be honest, I didn't expect Obama to do much, if anything, for women. But he has earned my respect and support with his stance on women's issues. From equal pay and contraception for every woman to his support for Planned Parenthood and Sandra Fluke, he has spoken out like no other president I can recall.
A man like Romney, in this political crazy climate, could be the worst thing that has happened to women since Roe.
