I don't think you can draw much from this. Could be many reasons. Mothers know their children very well and she may have insight into his past problems/medical issues that she doesn't want to talk about (particularly if it would hurt him). But it could just as easily be that she doesn't want to be batted about by the press - no matter what she says.

I'd give her a pass on this.
