(106,873 posts)If she claims her job is to get Democrats elected, but it isn't, then she's misleading the voters. Not a good idea.
She has just blocked an attempt to advance Obama's agenda (on Iran, probably his signature foreign policy accomplishment). Not a good idea.
"She acts as a conduit between the President, the Party and it's major supporters (Unions, advocacy groups etc.)" - except, it seems, when she doesn't like what the President is doing. Not a good idea.
"What she does NOT do is select candidates" - leave your red herring out of this. No-one was saying she selected candidates. "that's left up to the DSCC, DCCC, DGA and DLCC" - I thought it happened through primaries.
" Or decide what the Party's position is on national Policy" - again, you're the only one here flogging that dead red herring.
I think what people are looking for is someone successful, like Howard Dean, at encouraging activity in the party. And not someone who blocks people who want to support the President.
