If someone *does* step outside their ideological bounds, that person is promptly thrown under the bus and repeatedly backed over until they're nothing but a little greasy spot.

That's not so bad. In fact, looking around at the number of financial industry pals in the Democratic Party's leadership right now, I'd say we could do with a heaping dose of it.
