The only winning long-view is to generate change at the local and state level.

Southern states are not a lost cause. Many people overlook the fact that we have a much larger AfAm population than the US in general, and many have a fast-growing Hispanic population. Combine that with white liberals, and even conservative women who revolt over the republican's overreach on women's healthcare issues, and it isn't just a pipe dream that we can win.

I have long held the view that only conservative democrats could win statewide in GA, but I am rethinking that view. In the last election we had two strong candidates in statewide elections, Jason Carter for Gov and Michelle Nunn for US Senate. Both ran center to center-right, and lost with low voter turnout. Maybe it is time to showcase our liberal creds and generate some excitement to GOTV.
