3. I knew a friend of a friend during the 1970s who aspired to be a stunt double.

He would practice falls onto cardboard boxes, not large cushions or nets. I was intrigued by his description as I thought such stunts would be performed on large foam-rubber pits like pole vaulters used, but he said that wasn't the case.

I believe he got a job or two in Hollywood, but haven't seen him since then...
