General Discussion
In reply to the discussion: What the hell is wrong with this man? Is he bored, clueless, or just doesn't like children? [View all]. . . the man is truly frightening. Almost soulless, in his every utterance and expression. He hasn't shown a wit of care for this particular community -- in his policy; in his campaign leadership; or, until recently, in his outreach. This is a stark portrait of a man who is truly uncomfortable in this setting. I think it speaks volumes about the sincerity and nature of this particular effort of his to equate education with 'civil rights.' He demonstrated a profound disconnect from the needs and concerns of this group of educators and he looks like he's not even up to connecting with the primary subjects of his campaign prop. It may just be your own narrow view of the events and atmosphere surrounding this appearance which is influencing your indifference or objection to the criticism.
I'm good with folks focusing on whatever they want, tho . . .
