His father and I crossed paths a number of times when he was mayor...some funny stories actually.

I once ran into him three times in a one week period at various events, the last of which was a wedding for one of my wife's doctoral students at White Rock Baptist in W. philly. He wound up being seated right next to me with his wife and bodyguards and he turned to me and asked, "Who ARE you?" i laughed and said, "I'm so and so's dentist, I'm a contributor to Mondale, and my wife teaches the bride here."
