When gas went up, we all said it was speculators and only a fool would hold Obama responsible.

I didn't blame Obama for the rise, but said such things were pretty much beyond his control. I seldom blamed * or Clinton or Bush I or Reagan for such things, either. (In some cases, sure--when there's a clear cause and effect).

This entails, however, that I not give Obama credit for the decrease because, well, such things are still pretty much beyond his control.

This makes me a bad partisan, of course. A good partisan would either defend Obama when gas prices trended up and credit him when they came down, or (if (R)) attack Obama when they went up and ignore him when they came down.
