22. I just don't know this country anymore

I'm not naive, nor am I uneducated in the history of our nation. We've done some horrific things.

But since I have been an adult, the absolute lack of compassion, the disregard for the laws of our nation and the treaties we have entered into, the outright contempt toward minorities and religions other than Christian (and only certain branches of Christianity) and the grotesque indifference to human life, is abhorrent.

There is no doubt we have to, immediately, address the widespread, legalized murder of people by police, especially murders of people of color. But until we rid the government of the oligarchs, until we take our country back from the corporatists, we will never see peace again. Not in the world at large and not in the towns and villages that we call home.
