53. I don't post much, but I've been here a long time and always appreciated your posts.

I understand, though selfishly I hope you'll reconsider.

I'm disgusted with Democrats who don't seem like Democrats, too.

My own democratic Congressman here in the liberal northeast voted to close the doors to Syrian and Iraqi refugees. That Congressman then called a local Muslim activist to reassure him that the bill didn't really have any teeth or add new restrictions; it was symbolic. So he voted that way not even in a misguided attempt to keep Americans safer, but to take a symbolic anti-Muslim refugee stand? That's supposed to be reassuring?

And I have another friend who knows Link Chafee, who was the sole Republican to vote against the Iraq War. Chafee said if you studied it, it was clear that the Iraq war was based on lies. He said Clinton didn't care. Just didn't care at all. That's why he briefly ran for president; he was appalled that she'd go to war for political expediency. He, on the other hand, lost the backing of his political party with that vote...he was willing to lose his career rather than go to war over lies. And he comes from a military family; his father was a WWII hero.

Yeah. I understand where you're coming from. Love to you, too. I'll miss you.
