I had so much fun with that about a decade ago. Took the time to learn everything. Then somewhere along the way, everything changed and I did not want to relearn. I could now, since I have gotten back into having to use the computer for all kinds of stuff.
I think son is good from that point of view.

Nikon and Canon both make great entry level cameras. It's the lens that matters more.
