(854 posts)Your choice to single out the loudest momentary proponent of American totalitarianism as threat of fascism's "possible arrival" on US shores actually serves the ruling elite quite nicely. As long as people are focused on the loudest, most offensive distraction they are much less likely to engage in historic, long term systemic analysis of oppression. We are free now because Trump isn't yet elected, right?
Trump isn't saying or doing anything outside of the American cultural mainstream -- he simply says it more clearly and directly than the other candidates. How can any of you think that he is suggesting ideas not already woven through the very foundation of our history and belief systems? Trump is nothing but a mirror for the nation. Look closely. Don't look away or try to pretend that he is "bringing" something not already here.
