I figure if I'm involved in something (even if I don't engage in it publicly), I should be at least a bit knowledgeable about it...damn my enlightened parents!
It seems to me that while gun control is definitely necessary and works, after a certain point it sort of asymptotes...looknat Germany vs. the UK, if I remember correctly they have about the same murder rate but the Germans allow any kind of (non-full-auto) rifle your heart desires and even *gasp* handguns. But the vetting and tracking system works. Hell, New Zealand doesn't even have registration and their rate is like 0.9 or something...relatively high but it makes sense if you know a Kiwi
