But it's apparently a lost cause on DU.

Some also seem to forget that in the 21st century, we are easily able to record debates and replay them at more convenient times. We are hardly in the Dark Ages.

As it happens, I live abroad - in a time zone six hours ahead of CST. Unless I stay up very late and stream, when streaming is an option, I don't get to watch US debates live at all. I am able to stay up late for Sat night debates because the next day is Sunday and I have no major reason to rise early. At 70+, I am not usually out and about carousing on Sat nights.

Our local Dems Abroad group records the debates and replays them for us in the following week at different gathering places in the country.

It is hardly an impossible hurdle ... if one is truly motivated.
