(37,648 posts)It would immeidately make the recall a NATIONAL ISSUE, and that's what the 2012 Presidential election would be about. Besides that, he'd be interfering in STATE POLITICS, when it involves a recall of an elected official.
Can you name one instance of a sitting president getting involved in removal of an elected state official? Or even commenting on it? I don't think Bush said one word about the recall of Davis in California.
Except to ensorse someone, it is the responsibility of the STATE to handle its recall, including the STATE DEMOCRATS and the Democratic Party. Obama is hte leader of the party, but he doesn't directly get involved with everything the party does. Or he'd be spending all his time trying to remove City Councilmen, sheriffs, attorneys general, whatever.
You have a STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. It gets funding and assistance from the NATIONAL Dem. Party. That's who shoudl be involved in the recall. Not the Prsident Besides, we have Syria, a bad economy, Iran, Russia, China, oil spills, and a host of other things we'd like him to attend to.
