30. We got married on our anniversary so we wouldn't forget

Well, actually, it was my brother who invited us to our wedding. My wife-to-be and I were invited originally to HIS wedding, and he said if you will both be there, we can make it a double wedding. There were some logistics and paperwork to take care of, as my wife is from Germany and his wife is from Japan. But we managed. The wedding looked like a mini-version of the UN. My best man remarked that he realized that some people thought my wife and were "rushing into this"--after 8 years together! That was almost 34 years ago, so we have been together for 42 years come next year. At this point, the date is forgotten less often than our respective birthdays, and we never forget them.
