(46,155 posts)Their base comes out no matter what. People who buy "they are all the same" bullshit sit home or vote for spoiler candidates.
I am ashamed to admit I promoted and believed that "tHey are all the same" garbage. The election and re-election of Ronald Reagan woke me the fuck up. Terrible distructive policies. I was particularly appalled by Iran-Contra
Jesse Jackson was my guy in '92 primary. Very strong liberal
Gore was my guy in '00 primary. Because he was VP
Kerry in '04 because of his strong liberal voting record in the senate.
Edwards in 'O8 because he talked about the two Americas
Bernie in '16 because I am totally in agreement with his economic policies.
I pick the candidate in the primary who is closest to my own views. That's who I support and vote for.
I do the same in the general, who is closer to my views, who will come closest to advancing issues I care about, who will be the most constructive. tHat will always be the democratic candidate, as Republican are so destructive.
Once Bernie wins Iowa and New Hampshire I think he's gonna get a lot more people's attention. He's got an excellent chance to be our nominee, and I will be so proud to vote for them.
If not, I will still do everything in my power to keep whichever one of these vile destructive Republicans out of the White House. aNd Republicans in Congress as well.
W almost destroyed the country. Cruz, Trump, Rubio, et al will finish the job.
Sorry for the long rant.
