it is called the Winter Solider, and it disturbed the Pentagon to no end.

Yeah, yeah vets but their testimony did get back to the troops. The effect of Winter Solider is still debated, but it is one that the Pentagon will not repeat if they can avoid it.

At the end of the war draftees were not as effective as at the beginning of the war. This is where the old idea that draftees would not be as committed to defend Saigon as their professional counterparts. Never mind that those same draftees did exceedingly well in WW II
