(58,785 posts)about politics. By far most of any bad impressions they may have of Hillary and the Democrats came from the right-wing snow job done on nearly every household in the nation during the decades they were growing up.
As for the sources you mention, for 15 minutes just now I searched and for 15 minutes before and didn't find them, including a Joe Reed/Reid book. I'm not saying they don't exist, only that anything that obscure could not begin to influence an entire generation's political attitudes.
I'm afraid I do now have real questions about that one blog post you put such un-credible weight on. Where is the factual support for such scandalous allegations, or even independent first-person verification? Right-wing smears are not verification.
I've also read a few tell-all campaign books in my time, and, although there are always plenty of shabby maneuvers and occasional genuinely dirty, despicable ones, I've never read anything about the Democrats that could even begin to cause an entire generation to split the way you say.
All the sustained extreme actions that could and did move populations of several generations the the right were on the GOP side, and honest political scientists are still identifying, analyzing, measuring, and predicting their effects.
BTW, on the subject of a blizzard of anti- Democrat propaganda, "see" you on the threads about Jane Mayer's new book, Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right.
