But yes, I agree that the ACA constitutes legal theft/transfer of wealth from poor to rich.

Remember that President Obama did mention that his policies could have been GOP policies in the Eisenhower era. The debate has shifted so far to the right since the 1970s that Eisenhower would have run as a Democrat today. And he would have been called a weak Democrat by the GOP.
