Flippable Congressional Districts - Is There One Near You? [View all]

Here in Minnesota, there's one that could be flipped from Republican to Democrat. Our 2nd Congressional District seat is open, due to the Republican Jon Kline retiring. There's a field of GOP candidates vying in the primary race, but just one Democrat, Angie Craig, who stands alone, after other potential candidates dropped out. She has been endorsed by Keith Ellison and Al Franken and will almost certainly be the Democratic candidate in the general election.

Minnesota DFLers, including me, will be actively supporting Craig. If we can take back that district, it will be a big coup for the party.

So, look around your state. Are there open seats or seats held by a Republican who could be defeated? Who's running for that seat as a Democrat? Is there something you can do to help the Democrat win?

These are questions that voters in all states should be asking themselves. Making progress to build a majority in the House should be a top priority for Democrats this year. We won't get that majority in 2016, probably, but we can move in that direction. Check out your state. Are there opportunities to flip a House seat where you are? If so, that's a great goal to work for.
