(11,453 posts)He purchased a used laptop for $160.00 that was stolen from some guy selling stuff out of his car to college kids. The charges were changed, Cam was suspended for the balance of the 2008 season, and back on the team for the beginning of 2009. He was not forced to go JUCO by Florida. His father had him transfer to JUCO AFTER Tim Tebow announced he would not turn pro and instead return for the next season, meaning Cam would again be his backup. Cam's father wanted him away from all the stuff going on in Gainsville and also wanted him to get a season of game experience before transferring to another FBS school. Cam made a stupid freshman mistake and turned into a model citizen at JUCO, at Auburn, and at Carolina. He has raised millions for kid's charities, started the practice of inviting cancer stricken kids to workouts, and giving balls to kids after touchdowns.
Cam's biggest problem is that he is intense, driven, and hates losing. It gets the best of him sometimes but will probably improve as he ages and gets more experience.
I don't know him personally, but I know people who do. They tell me nothing but positives about him. I've met him exactly once back in 2010 and had no clue who he was. He was a relatively unknown then. I thought he was a basketball player, and didn't realized he was a football player until the beginning of the 2010 college season when I recognized that face and smile on the TV.
Edit to Add: There was zero evidence of him cheating at Florida. That was a bunch of rumors started by a Fox News sports shit stirrer named Thayer Evans. The same Thayer Evans that beat the hell out of his ex-wife. That's some source.
