LIke so many before him he thought he could wake the Angry Uneducated White Men up and shake their cages and rattle their chains and wave red meat around to get them salivating and hungry for blood only to find out that there was no way he could stop once they make him their master.

their loyalty will last only as long as he says and does what they want. He thought he was quite clever to roar their words and feeling back at them but as soon as he decides to move to the middle they'll burn him.

The Republican establishment is burning because they catered to the base for the entire time Obama has been President. They are at fault for birthing the likes of Cruz. Now they're trying desperately to retrieve some semblance of power, but it's too late. Their dragon is awake.
