IF the GOP actually leaves the SC seat empty, I think that is the ONLY way Clinton can win, because that thought that Trump could IMMINENTLY appoint someone to the court would be enough to motivate people to turn out.

I STRONGLY suspect they will get someone seated before the election.

Unfortunately, the electorate isn't smart enough to understand the rest of what you said... They try to use the hypothetical supreme nominations EVERY election cycle to absolutely NO benefit. However, if one is ACTUALLY pending, it is a wedge issues the democrats can use VERY effectively.

But.. I don't think the GOP leadership is dumb enough to go that route. Maybe I am underestimating them.

I am also slightly afraid of Obama appointing some center right person to appease them, just to get the seat filled, because I honestly don't think the democrats understand how strong a wedge issue this is for them!

You can LITERALLY make this election ABOUT Citizen's United which is the one ruling a super majority of the country wants to see go away and the right justice can make it happen!
