In reply to the discussion: Christopher Columbus statue in Detroit takes an axe to the head on Columbus Day [View all]MADem
(135,425 posts)265. A lot of times, I have noticed, the "disruptors" (or trolls, or socks) like to
hide in a little used thread or group, and rack up posts in a hurry.
A lot of times they think it is cool to go to an OLD thread and post shit. The reason for this is that they used to not bounce up to the top--and if they're posting TO someone who has dropped away from DU (left, died, got PPR'd, whatever) that they can run around talking to that person or persons without getting challenged.
Now the posts seem to be bouncing back up to the top and more people see/notice this odd behavior.
I've found a lot of them in Weird News. I'm the host there, and there's very rarely any trouble, but every so often a troll will go in and start bumping threads from years ago--it's very odd. They don't realize anyone is watching.

Couldn't they have just put a Detroit Lions jersey on him like they do other statues?

I'm thinking that our troll has some particularly substantial emotional issues.
