(14,524 posts)83. I quit 4 years ago.
One of the best and toughest things I've ever done. And you are correct, smokers stink, and tho I thought I knew it when I was smoking, I didn't really understand just how much. That said, I promised myself something when I did quit. I would NEVER become the self-righteous sort of ass that many other "reformed smokers" were to me. It's completely counter-productive anyway and pretending that you are "doing them a favor by telling them" is nothing more than seeking a rather poor excuse for being a jerk. That's my opinion anyway, your mileage may vary.

I don't think smokers smell bad, but they definitely have a distinct odor

Do you think waiting until tomorrow to give my anti-smoking message is better?

I like the smell of cigarette smoke, hate the smell of alcohol. To each their own.

Because they'll stay home, or vote Walker, because someone on DU said they smell bad?

The perfume mixed with the cigarette smoke is just the worst smell ever.

I really don't think playing on people's self-consciousness is a good way to elicit behavior change.

If I smelled offensive, and wasn't aware of it, I'd hope my friends would tell me.

It amazes me how many rude smokers throw butts out the window but NONE of them ever admit doing it.

Amazing that anyone who ever smoked doesn't or didn't know they smelled of smoke. I mean really,

What is the point of such a negative, hateful post? Are you that unhappy that you need
