36. Having just gone through this with my father about a year or so ago:

He could not just surrender his previous state ID to get one for WI without his birth certificate (from the 1930s, from SD). It took him several months to get what he needed from all locations. VOTER SUPPRESSION.

When I moved to WI from IL, all I did was surrender my IL DL for a WI DL. That was before the GOP got a stranglehold on our election process.

And no, we cannot just produce them at the DMV like we always used to...it has been outsourced to another state, because Walker is busy creating jobs in WI. Oh, wait a minute...

So if this young man could not produce his birth certificate, he could have had a military ID, a passport, or a tribal ID. Having none of those, his options are State issued DL and free State ID card...both of which have to be mailed. From out of state. VOTER SUPPRESSION
