No one was going to tell Betty what she could say. The kids were decent too. They were all likeable people.

After Ford died, his body was brought back to DC for a few days. I went down to watch the motorcade go by. A few days later, about noon on a cold winter day, the plane often used as Air Force 1 flew west, taking him away forever. I saw the plane fly over Alexandria. People on board could look down and see where the family used to live.
