In reply to the discussion: Trump calls for an END to the Federal Minimum Wage. [View all]Jesus - a year has passed since my decision not to vote for her. I'm not going to bother with my reasons because I suspect if someone smuggled out of Goldman Sachs a fully authenticated contract in which she pledged lifelong loyalty to the company, her supporters would consider it a sign of her skill at making 'connections.'
During that year, Hillary Clinton and her campaign have had many opportunities to convince me that I might be mis-evaluating her positions, history, probable agenda, etc., and get my vote.
They never even came close. And your comments are utter bullshit. I want a Democrat who is concerned about the shift of the party away from its 20th-century egalitarian tradition toward its modern role of a well-organized and efficient marketplace in which political influence among global financial, military and media interests who have no national loyalties is traded for personal and career enrichment.
I believe that Hillary and Bill Clinton are among the very best brokers between politicians and these multinational power structures. I'd really like to be wrong, but everything I've seen during the past year's campaigning has only affirmed what I already believed.
No one who comes close to the office of the Presidency is in any way 'pure.' But I won't vote for adepts of the very system that I believe is devouring our former, somewhat functional, republic.
